“Doulas improve outcomes for labor and delivery.”

Doula support is crucial in mitigating risks and our work moves the needle towards eliminating disparities - particularly in the lives of Black and brown families.

Nurture and Flow works to assist you in expressing your care preferences, educating you and your birth team, communicating with your healthcare providers, sharing information with your loved ones, and offering emotional and physical support.

Our support is available regardless of your location, whether you're at home, in the hospital, or undergoing medical procedures. We offer a judgment-free environment for both medicated and unmedicated births, as well as vaginal and cesarean births.

Let’s Work Together.

We know parents who’ve been supported along the childbearing continuum have an increased sense of confidence and satisfaction, so we strive to provide a sense of safety, security, and belonging to everyone we support.

Whether you are searching for the perfect doula, a tremendous prenatal yoga class, one-on-one personal guidance, or nutrition, we have you covered!

  • This is our first introduction to you and your growing family. Your consultation is free with no pressure from us. This a chance for you to gauge if Nurture and Flow align with the goals you and your family have. We do this consultation virtually (we use Google Meets, Phone, FaceTime).

  • Once you’ve decided to partner with us, you’ll have two or more prenatal visits with your birth doula in addition to your official meet and greet. You’ll learn about comfort measures, labor & delivery possibilities, tips for partners, and we’ll help you create a birth and postpartum plan.

Our doulas are on-call starting two weeks from your due date with no overlapping parents. Once birth begins, we offer continuous support for you and your partner. We’ll meet you at home or once you arrive at the hospital or birth center. We offer a variety of comfort measures - massage, encourage positioning, breath work, keep you hydrated and fed, and help partners understand and give them comfort too.

Documenting the birth by snapping pictures with your phone or camera, and we take notes so that you can remember this special day. Once your baby is born, we stay with you for about two hours, and we assist in establishing initial breastfeeding.

  • When you have a new baby, your routines will change, your time will be divided, and you will need to figure out how to juggle everything. Having a postpartum doula on hand can be so helpful during this time!

Doulas see how the family adapts to a new baby, help process the birth experience, and provides additional resources. While their primary focus is the healing and recovery of the birthing parent, doulas will also check in with the entire family during this transition period. Tasks may include:

    • Lactation support

    • Help with emotional and physical recovery after birth

    • Light housekeeping so that parents do not feel so overwhelmed

  • “Birth is an opportunity to transcend. To rise above what we are accustomed to. Reaching deeper inside ourselves than we are familiar with and to see not only what we are truly made of, but the strength we can access through birth.”
